Frequently asked questions

How long does a custom set take?+

It truly depends on a case by case basis, and can be fairly quick or fairly lengthy depending on the intricacy and details of the order. Inlays, rare exotic woods, and new designs tend to push the time out — we'll give you a realistic date before you commit, and clearly communicate with you the whole way through.

What does a set cost?+

A set of four racks in a domestic hardwood (walnut, maple, cherry, oak) start around $150 (However, we do have an unfinished paint-grade poplar rack/pusher set that is $110(all rack prices include free shipping), that you can paint yourself). Non stock Pushers, engraving, multi-tone designs, exotic species and many other upgrades or custom features add to that. We quote every custom order individually so you see the full price up front.

Do you ship internationally?+

We ship within the continental U.S. with free shipping. Orders outside of the U.S will be charged shipping.

Can you match my existing tiles?+

Yes. Send us the tile dimensions (or mail us a single tile) and we'll build the rack groove to fit. This is the best way to guarantee a perfect fit.

What's the ordering process?+

Tell us what you'd like through the custom request form. We'll reply promptly, requesting any additional information, options, a firm quote, and a build window. Once you approve, we collect payment, build the set, and ship it carefully wrapped.

Do you have a warranty on your custom items?+

Yes — every quote for a custom order includes this statement. I never expect problems with anything I send out. But for the customer's sake, I like to make it clear. If there is an issue with it in the future aside from normal wear and tear like scratches/dings/dents, such as — major flaws/warping, finish peeling/bubbling, or being damaged in transit — if you pay the shipping to get it back to me, I will fix/replace as needed and ship it back to you for free. (Wooden racks are not designed to be played with out in the heat and humidity or in direct sunlight; this will cause warping over time, even if the item was perfectly dry and sealed.) If you use our items for a year of vigorous use, or 10 years of light use, and they do have a lot of normal wear and tear, if you pay for shipping to have them sent to me, I will refinish them for a small fee instead of you having to buy a whole new rack. Please reach out in emails or via the contact form on the website. I truly want my items to be heirloom pieces.

What if I have issues with my order?+

I make everything myself, and inspect it thoroughly before packaging it. That being said, I am human, so if something is wrong, or there is an issue, please reach out to me via the website contact page, and I will do everything I can to get it taken care of as quickly as possible. There are instructions on the Paint-grade Poplar Racks, they need to be kept climate controlled, out of direct sunlight, and in a flat orientation. They also need to be painted within 1-2 weeks of receiving them. Unsealed wood warps, its a fact of life. Now as far as warping. Once again, I do not foresee there being any issues, but if they are to arise, I want you to please reach out. I will do my best to sort out a solution with you.
